Property owners in Anamosa are reminded that Chapter 144 of the Anamosa City Code requires owners of all buildings and houses to display address numbers in a conspicuous place to the street in figures not less than three (3) inches in height.  Building numbers are critical for emergency responders, police, fire and ambulance calls. All property owners are asked to display building number by July 1, 2009.  You may contact City Hall at 462-6055 if you have any questions.


LAWN MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS

CITY OF ANAMOSA - PUBLIC NOTICE

 

Residents of Anamosa are reminded that Chapter 53 of the Anamosa City Code requires property owners in residential districts to cut all grasses and weeds so that it does not exceed eight (8) inches in height. Residents are also reminded that it is unlawful to deposit grass and other yard waste on the City streets or in City storm sewers.

 

CITY DOG ORDINANCE

PUBLIC NOTICE - CITY OF ANAMOSA

 

Residents of Anamosa are reminded that Chapter 55 of the Anamosa City Code requires pet owners to clean up after their dogs and cats.  The ordinance applies to both private property and public property, such as city parks and public sidewalks.  Violations of the ordinance can result in a fine up to $750.00 for a first offense.

 

CITY BUILDING PERMITS REQUIRED

Residents of the City of Anamosa are reminded that property owners are required to obtain building permits prior to the start of construction of any house, commercial building, addition to buildings, accessory buildings, garages, decks,and fences.  Applications for building permits are available at City Hall, 107 South Ford Street. Building permits must be obtained prior to the start of construction.  Please call City Hall at462-6055 with any questions.  The City's zoning regulations can be reviewed on the City's website, www.anamosa-iowa.org.
